Creations of the Dark Side? - Star Wars

What if Anakin and Rey are creations of the dark side? Let's analyze this theory and see where it goes:

- Is Anakin a creation of the dark side?

Do you remember that conversation between Palpatine and Anakin in Episode III? Palpaltine tells a story about a dark sith lord called Darth Plagueis (click HERE to watch the scene):

"It's a Sith legend.........Darth Plagueis was a dark lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise. He could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life. He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.

(....)

He became so powerful that the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually he did. Unfortunately, he told his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep............Ironic, he could save others from death, but not himself".

At that time, Anakin was so worried about saving Padmé that he only focused on Darth Plagueis' power of cheating death..........but what about his power of creating life? Isn't it possible that Palpatine was implying that Anakin was created this way?

It's even possible that Darth Plagueis himself, with the help of Palpatine, created Anakin. We can't be certain of it because the book Darth Plagueis, which revealed that Palpatine was his apprentice, isn't considered official canon anymore. So, there are lots of doubts and discussions concerning the matter. Some people defend that Palpatine wasn't the apprentice because Darth Plagueis was a legend, so he probably died a very long time ago, when Palpatine wasn't even born. However, some others defend that there are official canons (such as the Star Wars Encyclopedia and the Tarkin novel) that confirm that Palpatine was indeed Darth Plagueis' apprentice........

Anyway, getting back to the theory, it's possibe that either Darth Plagueis himself or Palpatine (either because he was his apprentice, or because he adquired the knowlege in another way......maybe he was the apprentice of Darth Plagueis' apprentice........who knows, right?! hehe) created Anakin.

And then you ask me: but how? The only thing Anakin's mother said concerning her pregnancy was that it came out of nowhere........Yeah, but it's possible that someone kidnaped her, made her unconscious and made a midichlorian conception in her while she was asleep. And then, after they were done with it, they left her in her house, probably in her bed, and, when she woke up, she couldn't remember barely anything........and even if she remembered something, she probably thought it had all been a dream. So, she continued to live like nothing had happened........and, when she found that she was pregnant, she just presumed that it came out of nowhere..........

That's completely possible, isn't it? And, when we think about it, this theory explains why Palpatine was so interest in turning Anakin to the dark side.......he knew how Anakin was created (either because his Master did it or he did it himself, like we explained) and, so, he knew his potential of becoming a powerful Dark Force user.

And it's even possible that Palpatine manipulated everything: he probably knew about Anakin's love for Padmé and made a plan to approach them. So, he planned the attack that killed her double, which created a concern for Padmé's security.........and who would protect her? Yeah, Obi-Wan and his apprentice......what a coincidence, isn't it?

Palpatine knew that Padmé would be the key to turn Anakin to the dark side and it's possible that Palpatine was responsible (maybe he had some dark power for that) for Anakin's dreams where Padmé died during childbirth.

- And what about Rey?

Something similar could have happened to Rey..............You're probably asking yourself: but who created Rey, since Palpatine and Darth Vader were already dead? Well, it's possible that someone else knew about the darth power of controlling life. In fact, we don't even know whether Darth Vader ever learned this power. It looks like Palpatine didn't trust Vader (after all, he didn't want to have the same destiny as Darth Plagueis) and was even planning on substituting him for Luke (as we see in Episode VI), so it's possible that he never taught Vader about the power that made him turn to the dark side to begin with (ironic, isn't it?).

Palpatine had plans he probably never told Vader, as we can deduce from the Aftermath books. He trusted Galli, a young guy, to take care of an important spot in Jakku. So, it's possible that there is something up with the planet, maybe there is a dark power source hidden somewhere. And it's possible that Palpatine taught Galli how to use the dark power (since he didn't seem to be a natural Force user, he probably used the dark power source in Jakku) to create life.........

So, it's possible that Galli or someone else (maybe Galli's apprentice, in case he was already dead at the time) created Rey in a similiar way as Anakin was created, but probably more violent: they kidnapped a woman, made a midicholirian conception in her and kept her in captive during the pregnancy and, when the baby was born, they killed the mother...........So, they raised Rey and started to train her when she was still very young........

But something probably went wrong. Maybe the rumor about a girl being trained in a mysterious spot in Jakku was spreading throughout the galaxy and people, especially dark users (like Snoke), were becoming interested in the story and started to search about it. Since Galli (or his apprentice) and whoever else worked with him weren't powerful fighters (after all, they weren't natural Force users, they only used the dark sources in Jakku to have some power), they knew that they would be killed if they were discovered.......

Since they didn't want Rey and the precious spot to be found, they decided that the best thing to do was to shut down their operations in the place, wipe off Rey's mind (with the dark power sources, of course), leave Jakku and abandon Rey there. They didn't want to kill her either because she could be necessary someday or because they wanted to make some money by selling her to Unkar Plutt (or maybe because of both reasons hehe).

But if her mind was wiped off, how did she remember about her "family"? Well, it's possible that they tried to erase all her memories, but, since she was very strong with the Force, they couldn't erase everything. I mean, they could lock her Force powers, but she still had lots of skills and could remember something about her "family"..........but her memories were very confused, as we can see in Rey's Survival Guide.

So, she doesn't remember very well how her life was before she was left with Unkar Plutt. She probably has some flashes of her past, but nothing very concrete..........she probably remembers vaguely that someone took care of her (the people she calls "family") and that they left her there...........she still had hope that they would come back because they probably said that they would (which isn't necessary a lie.......like I said, she could be necessary for them someday).

- How Rey's powers were unlocked?

Well, it's possible that Kylo Ren triggered her powers when he tryed to read her mind. Maybe the key to unlock her powers was the same used to lock them: a strong dark Force messing up with her head..............and that's exactly what Kylo Ren did to her when he tried to read her mind.

Of course her powers weren't released all at once. They began to come to her as she started to test them. Kylo Ren even said to the stormtroopers, right after Rey scaped, that "She is only beginning to test her powers, the longer it takes to find her, the more dangerous she becomes". This proves that Kylo Ren was suspecting that Rey was the girl. Snoke had probably told him about the rumor concerned a powerful girl that had been trained in a suspicious place in Jakku........

There are other proofs of that as well. In the scene where the guard tells Kylo Ren that a girl helped Finn to scape with the droid, he asks "What girl?", as if he was suspecting something. And when Kylo Ren tells Snoke that Rey is strong with the Force, Snoke says to bring her to him, like if he suspected that she was the girl. And, at the fight scene between Rey and Kylo Ren, he says "it is you" when she pulls the lightsaber, which is the moment when he realizes that she is indeed the girl.

The mentioned line was cut from the movie, but it's in the novel version of it.

That's it guys. I think it's a pretty nice and suitable theory, but I believe that the Reincarnation Theory fits the story much better...........and what do you think about it? Let your comment below =)

The Mummy - Review in 2 parts (with and without spoilers)

First Part: Review without spoilers

I was very excited to watch "The Mummy", but I was a little disappointed, I expected more from the movie. I mean, it wasn't entirely a disaster. The beginning was very nice, I loved that whole mystery environment, with fascinating archeological discoveries.............

Even the action scenes (which I am not very fond of) were very fun at first, but they became less and less exciting during the movie, and sometimes it felt like I was watching a zombie movie (I understant that it's similar to the mummy universe, but there are differences between them). That isn't the worst problem, though.

The story got a little bit messy, there were lots of things badly explained, including the end, which was confusing and kind of ridiculous. Besides, they tried to force a romance between the protagonist and a blond woman there, but it wasn't very convincing.........it wouldn't be a huge problem if the end wasn't so related to that stupid relationship.

Anyway, it wasn't all bad, but I expected so much more.........I bet there won't be a mummy movie as great as that one of 1999.........

That's it for you that haven't watched the movie yet. Come back here to check out the second part after you go to the movies............and, for the ones that have already watched it, just continue reading.

Second Part: Reflections concerning the movie (WITH SPOILERS!)

- "Contamination power"

The mummy was able to absorbs the life (or, better saying, the vital energy) of people in order to be more powerful, which is totally comprehensive and fits the mummy universe quite well. However, the victims didn't die completely (what should have happened), instead of they were somehow contaminated and became zombies that were controlled by the princess mummy.

This "contamination power" doesn't fit the mummy universe very well. It fits better the zombie universe, where people usually turns into zombies because of some kind of infection........that makes sense. However, it isn't very logical that a mummy (which doesn't have any infectious disease) turns other people into some kind of zombie.

- Dr. Henry Jekyll and his mysterious disease

What was up with this guy? Why is he possessed every now and then? I understand that he works with "dark stuff" and, so, we can presume that he was probably contaminated or something like that........but, even so, it should be explained......

I am aware that he is a famous character from other stories, but I don't remember barely anything about him. And why is he in the movie anyway? Is this movie only a part of some kind of sequence envolving super heroes or, better saying, powerful people that are sometimes heroes and sometimes monsters?

And I innocently thought that I was going to watch a genuine mummy movie, not some "super hero / monster stuff"......

- The tacky romance between Nick and Jenny

They tried to force a deep and true romance between Nick and Jenny, but it wasn't convincing at all........I mean, they barely knew each other and Nick didn't even seem to care about her, but suddenly he decides to sacrifice himself and become a monster only to resurrect her?

- If  Nick hadn't completed the ritual, what would have happened?

I mean, if Nick had broken the red stone, what would have happened? Would the princess mummy be destroyed? Let's think for a second: if the stone had been destroyed, the pact with the god Seth would be broken and, so, the princess would probably be destroyed.......

But we can't be sure of that, since Dr. Jekyll said, at the last minutes of the movie, that "a monster must be created to destroy the other monster", which implies that there wasn't another way to destroy the princess mummy.

- What happened to Nick?

I mean, the ritual was accomplished in a very different way: he stabbed the dagger in himself, not the princess. So, what changes? Since he was the one that did it, has Seth possessed only part of his body? I mean, did Nick still have some control of it? And how does his power work? Is he powerful only when Seth controls him?

Anyway, there are too many questions, few explanations and a lot of confusing and nonsense stuff going on.......and what do you think about it? Leave you comment below!

Reincarnation Theory - Star Wars

There are lots of similarities between Anakin and Rey. They are both great mechanics, they are both expert pilots, they seem to have a special relationship with droids and they are strong with the Force. They have so much in common that some people believe that maybe Anakin didn't accomplish everything he had to as the Chosen One from the prophecy. People believe that Anakin had some unfinished work, maybe he didn't complete his destiny and, so, he reincarnated as Rey.........Let's analyze this theory and see where it goes:

- Did Anakin complete his destiny?

Most people that defend the reincarnation theory believe that Anakin returned as Rey because he didn't complete his task as the Chosen One, who was supposed to bring balance to the Force..........but is it right? Let's think for a second: the Force must be in balance and that means that not only the dark, but also the light must be controlled and, at the time of the prequels, there were about 10,000 Jedis (according to Wookieepedia) and only a few Siths. I know that most of you will probably remind that George Lucas said that the Siths must be destroyed to balance the Force......

First, it doesn't matter what George Lucas thinks, the only thing that is valid is what is shown in the movies. Second, it's indeed logical that the Siths unbalance the force a lot more than the Jedis, so a small number of Siths are able to unbalance the force more than lots of Jedis........but at the time of the prequels there were THOUSANDS more Jedis than Siths, so it's obvious that the light was unbalancing the Force more than the dark........

When Anakin became Darth Vader and helped to destroy the Jedi Order, he was accomplishing part of his task: he was helping to weaken the light, which was the side that was unbalancing the Force the most at the time. Of course the dark became the dominant side and the Force was still unbalanced, but that period was necessary. Weaken the light was the first part of the task, and the second part was to take the power from the dark side, which was accomplished during the Battle of Endor, when Darth Vader killed Palpatine and, consequently, the Empire collapsed. This was when Anakin accomplished the Chosen One destiny: the dark side was destroyed (at least for a while) and the light wasn't so strong as in the prequels.........

So, it doesn't make sense that Anakin returned as Rey to fulfill his destiny, because he had already done so.........however, it makes a lot more sense if the Chosen One turns out to be in some kind of reincarnation cycle in order to keep the Force in balance, such as it happens in the Avatar series.

- Does the reincarnation theory fit the Star Wars universe?

Lots of people will say that it can't happen because reincarnation isn't in the Star Wars universe.........and so what? Neither was the Chosen One theory and the midichlorians, but the prequels incorporated those things in the saga. Anyway, it's totally okay that the new trilogy brings up things that weren't explored before, as long as it makes sense to the story.........

When we think about it, this reincarnation cycle theory explains a lot of things and corrects some apparent flaws in the saga, such as the fact that Anakin became a Force Ghost without any kind of training. I mean, Obi-Wan and Master Yoda spent years training to achieve that, while Anakin accomplished it without making the slightest effort.

The only explanation for it is that he is the Chosen One and, consequently, the consciousness of his life as Anakin (as well as the other past lives) is automatically preserved. You must be wondering: if he is always going to be a Force Ghost, how is he going to reincarnate? Well, the fact that the consciousness of his past life remained alived doens't mean that his spirit can't reincarnate. I know it's a little bit confusing, but if you watched the Avatar series, you will understand what I am talking about: you probably remember that Aang was able to talk with his past lives once in a while in order to receive advices from them and sometimes he was even helped by them.

So, it's totally possible that, if this theory turns out to be right, Rey will be able to talk with the Force Ghost of Anakin (which is obviously not her spirit, only the consciousness of her past life that remained alive) and maybe even to her other past lives. She will probably receive advices from them and maybe even be helped by them, like Aang did.........

This theory also explains why Rey could use her power in an incredible way, even though she didn't have any training. In the beginning of the Avatar series, Aang wasn't a very good fighter yet, but, when he was in his "Avatar state", he could do incredible things that he couldn't normally do.

And, after Aang died, he was able to talk to Korra, the subsequent Avatar.........

And, like the past Avatars, she was able to do incredible things when she was in the "Avatar state".

- Reincarnation theory and Rey's deep connection with the Force

The "Avatar state" somehow resembles what happened with Rey during her fight with Kylo Ren: she was losing it but when she closed her eyes and connected with the Force, she was able to easily defeat him.........and, let's agree, it's hard to believe that everyone would be able to do that. I mean, no matter how much connected with the Force you are, you probably won't be able to defeat your highly trained opponent in a fight if you have never had any kind of training for that. So, the only explanation for what she did is that she connected with some kind of "Chosen One power" (maybe Anakin and her other past lives were helping her).

This theory also explains the whole "midichlorian conception" thing. It didn't seem to make sense that Anakin was conceived by midichlorians, but now it fits perfectly this theory: the Chosen One spirit was invoked by the Force in order to balance it and, like we explained, Anakin accomplished his mission. However, the First Order started to emerge from the shadows and, even though it wasn't so powerful yet, it was a huge threat to the Force balance (or maybe it was already unbalanced), that's why the Chosen One spirit was invoked again, which reincarnated as Rey.

Yes, if the theory turns out to be right, then Rey was conceived the way Anakin did, by the midichlorians. I know that most of the fans would hate to hear that term again, so Disney would probably refer to it in a different way, something like "Rey was made by the Force to bring balance to it". In fact, maybe that explains why she was abandonned in the first place: her mother was probably too scared to keep a baby that came out of nowhere and gave it to someone else.

So, it's possible that whomever Rey considers family aren't her biological relatives. They probably didn't even care about her and it's possible that they sold her to Unkar Plutt in order to have enough money to leave Jakku. They left Rey behind and probably lied to her, saying that they would come back, that's why she still had hope that they would.......

- If the theory turns out to be right, why people in Star Wars didn't know about it?

You must be wondering: if the Chosen One is in some kind of reincarnation cycle, so why people didn't know about it, such as in the Avatar series? Well, the Avatar reincarnation cycle happens in a single world, not in a whole galaxy like in the Star Wars theory. So, it's difficult to realize that there is someone made by the Force reincarnating every now and then in the galaxy.

Besides, in the Avatar series, the reincarnation cycle is uninterrupted: when the Avatar dies, the spirit reincarnates right after. In the Star Wars theory, though, the reincarnation only happens when the Force is out of balance or when it will potentially be. So, the reincarnation frequency is much less than in the Avatar series, which makes it even more difficult for people in the Star Wars universe to find out what is happening.

That's it guys, I know that most of you don't want to see this reincarnation stuff in Star Wars, but the truth is that it can turn out to be a nice thing if it's carefully done, without that "you are my father" bullshit........

Yeah, we definitely don't want that crappy dialogue........anyway, the Avatar series explored reincarnation in a very brilliant way and I am sure that Disney would be able to do the same. Besides, it's one of the few theories that actually makes sense and that corrects some flaws in the new and old trilogies!
