Is Rey a Palpatine?! - Star Wars

Rey's forward thrust stab, her Core World accent, the pull to the dark side, the possible meaning of her name and the new scenes from The Last Jedi trailer.........are these proofs that she is a Palpatine? Let's discuss each one of these topics:

Forward thrust stab

One of the main arguments to support this theory is that Rey and Palpatine seem to be the only two to use this forward thrust stab. We have seen Rey doing this movement in her fight with Kylo Ren and we have seen Palpatine doing it in Episode III, when he attacks Mace Windu and the other Jedi.........but that doesn't mean much. After all, the way you fight (as well as the things you do in your daily life, such as the way you hold a pencil, for example) isn't something inherited..........

You might say that Rey is a Palpatine and, so, she was taught to fight this way (when she was very young, before being left with Unkar Plutt) because this is her "family unique fighting style" and she has learned to do it........

Well, I don't think Rey has ever fought with a lightsaber before, since Obi-Wan's words during her Force visions ("these are your first steps") clearly indicated that Rey has never had a proper training before.

So, everything she does with the lightsaber is based on the foundation she built using her staff on Jakku. She probably has taught herself how to fight with the staff so as to protect herself against other scavengers or other people that had mean intentions towards her. Therefore, the only fight technique she had was the one she developed using the staff, that's why she used the lightsaber the same way she would use the staff.

Besides, just because Rey and Palpatine have a similar way to fight with one lightsaber, that doesn't mean that they have the same fighting style. We have seen Palpatine fight with two lightsabers in The Clone Wars animated series (which is official canon), where he obviously uses a different choreography than the one he uses when he is fighting with only one lightsaber. So, if we are going to talk about them having the same fight style, we must see Rey's performance in other situations.

Rey has a Core World accent

Another strong argument is the one concerning Rey's accent. We have reasons to believe that the producers purposely let Daisy Ridley to speak with the British accent, since John Boyega (who plays Finn) also has such accent in his natural speaking voice, but was told not to do it in the movie.

In the star wars universe, this accent is spoken by the Core World habitants............so, it might indicate that Rey was raised in one of the Core Worlds or somewhere near the Core or by upper class people who came from the Core. And as we know, Palpatine spent a large portion of his life in Coruscant (a Core World Planet that was the Capital of the Republic and later of the Empire), that's why some people defend that it's a strong indication of Rey's heritage to Darth Sidious.

Yeah, there is a slight chance that it is indeed an indication that she is a Palpatine, but it's not a very strong proof, since she could have been raised in a Core World or by people that came from the Core but without being blood related to Palpatine. Besides, it's possible that Rey shouldn't have the accent............maybe Daisy Ridley couldn't pull off an American accent and, for the sake of a good movie, the producers let her speak with her natural speaking voice, even though the fans would question about it.

Rey is in the "dark side part" of The Force Awakens poster

Some people believe that The Force Awakens poster indicates that Rey is a Palpatine because she has a strong pull to the dark side, since she was purposely placed in the same side as Kylo Ren.........

First of all, we can't presume that it's an indication of anything, maybe the purpose was only to put in evidence Kylo and Rey's rivalry, show the fans that they could expect several confrontation scenes between them two in The Force Awakens, which actually happened.......

From what I have seen, The Last Jedi posters don't place Rey in the same side as Kylo Ren, such as this one........

And this other one here..........

So, this argument isn't solid at all. Besides, I am not denying that Rey has a strong pull to the dark side. On the contrary, I do believe she has it, but that doesn't mean she is blood related to Palpatine, which we are going to discuss in the next topic.

Rey's pull to the dark side

The defenders of the theory say that Rey's pull to the dark side is very strong, and we can most see it when she strikes Kylo down during their fight............in that moment (according to The Force Awakens book, which is official canon), a mysterious voice tells her to kill him, and some people believe that it's Palpatine talking to her granddaughter and trying to pull her to the dark side, the same way he did with Anakin, tempting him to kill Dooku ("Kill him........kill him now.......do it!") in Episode III.

Yeah, these situations are indeed very similar, but that doesn't mean much. After all, the most efficient way to pull someone to the dark side is definitely by encouraging him or her to commit murder. Consequently, the "dark side incentive lines" aren't going to change much........

Besides, how come Palpatine could speak with Rey if he was dead? Did he have his mind preserved and end up becoming some type of Dark Force Ghost? I highly doubt it.

So, this voice tempting Rey to kill Kylo wasn't a person's voice, but only a dark voice inside her. After all, it's clear that Force sensitive people (especially the most powerful ones, such as Rey) are susceptible to the pull of the dark side every once in a while........

Anakin, for example, was tempted by a dark side voice within him to kill Dooku, which he did. Palpatine encouraged him, of course, but there was surely a much stronger voice inside Anakin pulling him and he couldn't resist it.

Luke was also tempted by an inner dark side voice when he struck down his father and had the chance to kill him..........even though Palpatine was encouraging him with words, there was certainly a much tempting voice inside Luke trying to corrupt him.........but he had the strength to ignore it and choose the light, unlike his father Anakin.

Concluding, Rey's pull to the dark side doesn't mean much. It's only a common thing that all Force sensitive people, especially the most powerful ones, have to deal with every once in a while.

Rey's name

Rey's name is also one of the main arguments to support the theory, since names in Star Wars movies usually have a significance: "Darth Vader" means "dark father", "Luke" is a name that comes from the Latin word "lux" that means "light", "Yoda" may come from the Sanskrit word "Yoddha" which means "warrior" or from the Hebrew name "Yodea" meaning "One who knows"......

Having that in mind, lots of people argue that just as "Vader" is Dutch for "father", "Rey" is Spanish for "King", a monarch ruler that resembles an Emperor, which might indicate a blood relation to Emperor Palpatine.

Well, I do believe that Rey's name has a meaning, and there is a great chance that it's something related with the word "King", but it might refer to the fact that she will play an important political role in the galaxy, not because she is a Palpatine, but because she is so powerful that she will end up having an important leadership position.

Did Palpatine have a family?

If Rey is Palpatine's granddaughter, so did he have a family? Well, I have heard an interesting idea concerning the fact that Rey has some similarities with Padmé, who was a Naboo native.........and since Padmé had more than several doubles that looked similar to her, we can presume that Naboo women tend to resemble each other in terms of appearance and physical characteristics ..........

So, according to this theory, it's possible that Palpatine, during the time he lived in Naboo (recalling that he was born there), secretly married a Naboo girl and had children with her, since he wanted heirs to continue his plans after his death.

Well, it's a little bit crazy, but it actually makes sense. After all, if even Anakin had a secret marriage, it's totally possible that Palpatine had one as well, especially because he wasn't a Jedi and didn't have a Code to follow.........but it's hard to imagine Palpatine investing time and effort to build a family, after all, it doesn't seem to be something that he would spend his precious time with.

We never know, though. It's possible that he saw his family as an important way to continue his Master Plan of conquering the galaxy.........which is indeed a great motive, isn't it?

But even though there is a slight chance that Palpatine had a family and that Rey is blood related to him, there are still lots of things to be answered: where is Palpatine's family? And why did Rey end up in Jakku? Is it possible that the New Republic wanted to kill all Palpatine's descendants after the collapse of the Empire? That's why Rey's parents decided to hide their daughter in Jakku, so as to protect her?

Well, I must confess that there are interesting ways to justify why Palpatine had a family and how Rey's heritage led her to end up in Jakku.........but it might be a little complicated for the writers to fit all the details together..........

Rey's powers were triggered by a dark force user

As everything indicates, Rey's powers were triggered when Kylo Ren tried to read her mind with a strong dark power messing up with her head........and some people believe it is a proof that she is a Palpatine, since the dark side apparently made her powerful.

Well, I do believe that Kylo was the one that triggered her powers, but that doesn't mean much. After all, it's possible that her powers were triggered only as a defense mechanism of her body, which reacted to a challenging and risky situation..........not because the dark side "likes" her for being blood related to Palpatine.

Kylo Ren seems to know Rey

In The Force Awakens book, Kylo Ren says "it is you" when Rey pulls Luke's lightsaber to her in the fight scene between her and Kylo. So, he seems to know Rey somehow and there are lots of theories concerning this, including the ones trying to relate it to the fact that she is a Palpatine.

Some people defend that Snoke had been trying to track down Rey for years, without success. Maybe he knew about her because he had heard rumors that Palpatine's granddaugther was still alive and hidden somewhere........and Kylo certainly knew about it and was helping his master to find the girl.........

This theory justifies Kylo's curious line ("what girl?") in the scene where the guard tells that Finn and a girl had escaped with the droid. It seems that Kylo was already suspecting something........and in the scene where Kylo tells Snoke that Rey is strong with the Force, Snoke tells to bring her to him, as if he was suspecting that she was the girl he had been looking for........

And in the fight scene between Rey and Kylo, he says "it is you" (we have to consider that actually happened, since the book is official canon) because somehow he confirms - maybe he had seen the scene in a Force vision - that Rey is the one he had been looking for. That's why he tells her, later in the fight, that he could help her.........some people believe that he tells it because he knows how powerful a Palpatine and a Skywalker can be together..........

Yeah, there is a chance that this theory turns out to be true, but it's possible that Kylo Ren wanted to help Rey simply because he had seen, through Force visions, how powerful she was, that's why he was so interested to make her an ally, after all, the pull to the dark side tend to be stronger in the most powerful Force-sensitive people.

Sith Screech in Rey's scene in the trailer and in Rey's Force visions in The Force Awakens

In the opening shot in The Last Jedi trailer, when Rey ignites her lightsaber, we hear a faint but undeniable Sith screech, very similar to the one heard in Episode III, when Palpatine ignites his lightsaber and reveals himself for the first time, attacking Mace Windu and the other Jedi.

In The Force Awakens, we can also hear a screech at the beginning of Rey's Force visions' scene..........

So, lots of people defend that this sound effect was purposely added in Rey's scenes, as a hint that she is a Palpatine.

Well, I do think these screeches are in Rey's scenes for a reason, but it doesn't necessarily mean that she is a Palpatine. Maybe this sound effect only indicates that Rey is suffering (or is going to suffer) a great pull to the dark side, not because she is a Palpatine, but because the pull to the dark side is more intense in the ones that are strong with the Force, as we have discussed before.

Luke is scared by Rey's raw strength

As we can see from the trailer, Luke is very scared by Rey's power, he even said that he had seen such a raw strength only once before............whom was he talking about? Some people say that he was talking about Palpatine, since he knew how powerful Darth Sidious was, after all, he felt his lightning in Episode VII. So, Luke is afraid of Rey, because he knows that she could turn to the other side and the galaxy would have a new Palpatine.

I am not so sure if Luke was talking about Palpatine when he said that he had seen "this raw strength only once before". After all, when he confronted Darth Sidious, the latter was a very experienced dark side fighter, so, Luke doesn't know how powerful he was before receiving any kind of training (his raw strength).

You might say that Luke was talking about his father, Anakin..........but then we have the same problem: he confronted his father when the latter was already a very experienced fighter, so, Luke hasn't personally seen (just heard about) Anakin's raw strength.......

Maybe Luke was talking about Kylo Ren? Well, from what we have seen in The Force Awakens, Kylo doesn't seem to be so powerful with the Force as Rey..........

It's also possible that Luke was talking about someone we don't know yet........I guess we will have to wait to see it.

Snoke expects Rey to fulfill her destiny

At the beginning of The Last Jedi trailer, we hear Snoke talking to someone, which we believe to be Rey, since he talks about a "raw, untainted power" and a few moments later we see Luke talking about her raw strength.......

And later in the trailer Snoke tells Rey that she must fulfill her destiny............but what kind of destiny would he expect her to fulfill?

Some people believe that Snoke wants her to continue what her grandfather started, since he can sense that she is a Palpatine, he feels that she has that kind of potential to the dark side that he never saw anyone else hold before, not even Kylo Ren.

Well, that line ("you must fulfill your destiny") is indeed very confusing, but, as we have already discussed several times in this post, Rey's pull to the dark side might be very strong not because she is blood related to Palpatine, but because the pull to the dark side is naturally more intense in the ones that are powerful with the Force......and since Rey is uncommonly powerful, the pull to the dark side is a lot more intense in her than in the other Force users, including the powerful ones such as Luke and Kylo Ren........

That's it guys, as you can see, I do think it's possible that The Rey Palpatine Theory turns out to be true, but it isn't my preferred theory. I think that The Creations of the Dark Side Theory is so much more intriguing and it fits the story a lot better. Click HERE to check out the post!

Is Snoke Darth Plagueis? Or is he something else? - Star Wars

Is Snoke Darth Plagueis? Or is he a creation of Plagueis? Or was he only a normal human that was Palpatine's apprentice and end up being transformed and deformated due to some sort of dark power source? Let's discuss about these theories:

Is Snoke Darth Plagueis?

There is a chance that Snoke turns out to be Plagueis, after all, we know that the Siths have always been obsessed with immortality, and we can presume that Plagueis was no different in that aspect, especially considering how interested he seemed to be in saving people from death and creating life, according to Palpatine's story in Episode III.

But then we must question ourselves: what's the use in creating life? It's possible he could have some type of  God complex and, consequently, conquering the ability of creating life would likely make him feel like a God. But, looking at practical reasons, what's the big deal of doing it?

The only real reason I can think of is that Plagueis wanted to create himsef a new body, one with more potential then his current one. Not only this gives theoretically the ability of live forever, since he would be able to have a new body when the current one was too old, but he would consecutively become more and more powerful by creating himself a better host each time.

Then there's the part of the story which Palpatine claims that Plagueis' apprentice (which we believe to be Palpatine or someone close to him) killed his Master in his sleep..........

But was Plagueis really that dumb? I doubt it.........what if he was wasn't sleeping, but only appeared to be sleeping, simply because his consciousness had already left that body and entered in a new one? So, what the apprentice really did was to "kill" an empty body.............

I think it was all part of a plan: Plagueis had been slowly transferring his consciousness and his powers into a new body. And Plagueis new that his apprentice would notice he was weakening and would take the opportunity to kill him, and become the Master of Sith. Then, the apprentice would conquer the galaxy for him, while he waited in the dark to take rule when the time was right.

But if Snoke is actually Plagueis in a bew body, what are going to be the explanations for the things that are against this theory?

First, we have been told that Snoke is going to be a brand-new character..........

However, that doesn't prevent the theory from being true, after all, Plagueis would be in a new body and in essence it would still be a brand-new character.

Second, there is the fact that the producers have stated that there is no Sith in The Force Awakens and this would theoretically prevent the speculation from being true, since Plagueis was a Sith.

However, it's possible that in his new form, Plagueis doesn't consider himself a Sith anymore, but something different. Maybe he thinks he has transcendent being just a Sith, because he has conquered immortality.

Third, we know that Lawrence Kasdan, one of the writers of The Force Awakens, didn't even seem to know who Darth Plagueis was when he was asked about it.

But that doesn't mean anything, maybe who Snoke is wasn't yet decided in that phase of Episode VIII.

And, finally, there is the fact that Plagueis was supposed to be a Muun (a thin, tall humanoid species from the frozen world of Scipio), which Snoke doesn't appear to be.

A typical Muun

But we must recall that Plagueis made himself a new body and, so, he could have made it look whatever he wanted to. Consequently, it's a brand-new character, with a new body, new features and so on.

Is Snoke a creation of Plagueis?

The conversation between Palpatine and Anakin in Episode III implied that the latter was Darth Plagueis' creation............so, it's possible that it turns out to be true. Assuming that, it's possible that he wasn't the only one created by the powerful Sith Lord..........

It's possible that Snoke was another creation of Plagueis, who was probably trying to create the perfect loyal apprentice, since he wanted to replace his current one (which we believe to be Palpatine or someone related to him), who was becoming too powerful and would probably kill him someday.

I would say that Snoke and the current apprentice fought at some point, and this was the confrontation that left Snoke deformed. Snoke was probably created long before Anakin, and was tested to fight with the current apprentice and take his place.........but Snoke end up not being so strong and, consequently, was defeated in the fight and, later, was abandoned by his creator, who gave up on him.

So, Plagueis tried again and made Anakin........but how he did that? I mean, the only thing his mother said about the pregnancy was that it came out of nowhere........

Well, Plagueis (or his apprentice) probably kidnapped Anakin's mom, made her unconscious and made a midichlorian conception in her and, later, she was left in her house, probably in her bed and when she woke up she just presumed that she had been sleeping throughout the day. So, she just kept living her life and, when she found out about the pregnancy, she thought it came out of nowhere........

Anyway, Plagueis' plan was to secretly watch Anakin growing up and, when the time was right, he would approach the boy and try to convert him........but Plagueis was killed in the process by his apprentice, who we strongly suspect to be Palpatine (the book "Plagueis" confirmed that, but it isn't considered official canon anymore, that's why we can't be sure of it), since the latter seems to have accomplished his Master's plan: he secretly watched Anakin and, when it was convenient, he converted the boy to the dark side.

Meanwhile, Snoke was probably angry for being defeated and abandoned, so he decided to follow his own path and became another type of dark force user. He probably created the Knights of Ren during this time and worked hard on becoming more powerful and stronger.........

I think it's a pretty nice theory, especially because this could help explain how Snoke turned Ben Solo to the dark side in the first place. He may have told the truth about his grandfather, how Anakin was created by Plagueis as well as he was, making him almost a brother of Anakin, in a weird sort of way......... So, Ben probably saw Snoke as a powerful version of his grandfather, that's why he felt so compelled to betray his family and choose the dark side.........

Was Snoke Palpatine's apprentice? And was he a normal human before being transformed?

We have a pretty good idea of how Snoke looks like, thanks to seing him, even it is in a hologram, a few times in The Force Awakens. He is thin and has a most human-looking face, but full of scars and deformations. We don't know how tall he is, because the hologram seems to be out of scale..........

So, either he isn't really a human or, if he is, he had been transformed in some way........maybe because of some Sith Power or ritual that changed his physical appearance? Or maybe he gained those scars and deformations in a fight or suffering an accident of some kind?

We also know that Snoke is the Supreme Leader of the First Order, a regime very similar to the Empire, or, better saying, a regime that was formed by the remains of the Empire.......what can we take from this? Well, if he is the leader of a regime built on the remains of the Empire, so maybe Snoke used to be an important member of it.......

After all, it looks like a lot of the structure of the Empire was kept intact. For example, the First Order's symbol is very similar to the Empire's.

First Order's symbol (the red one) and Empire's symbol (the one in black and white)

And there are also stormtroopers, a Starkiller Base (which is very similar to the Death Star, but more powerful), a Supreme Leader that controls everything (such as Palpatine did), and so on. That might imply that Snoke, for the most part, was on board with everything Palpatine was doing in the Empire

We also know, thanks to The Force Awakens book, that Snoke witnessed the rise and fall of the Empire. So, he is at least 65 years old, or even older. He also seems to have an inside perspective of this rise and fall and we know this because at some point of the book, he tells Kylo Ren that wasn't poor strategy or arrogance that brought down the Empire, but rather sentiment.

This shows that he agreed with the way Palpatine ran things and blames Vader's one moment of weakness on its downfall. Besides, that implies that he somehow knows exactly what happened in the confrontation between Vader, Luke and Palpatine. Something only Luke and the ones very close to him (such as Leia and Han Solo) should know about..........so, how Snoke knew what happened? That was actually Vader who killed the Emperor to save his son?

Some people might say that Kylo Ren told Snoke about what happened.......well, according to the book Bloodline, the truth was kept hidden from Ben Solo about his grandfather for most of his life, until it became public knowledge that Vader was Leia's father, roughly six years before the events of The Force Awakens. When this revelation came out, Leia was forced to send a message to her son, who was still training with Luke at the time, telling him he is Vader's grandson. And, at this point, Luke probably told him everything that happened, including the fact that Vader was redeemed and became Anakin again.

So, was Kylo Ren the one who told everything to Snoke? I highly doubt it, because in The Force Awakens Leia blames Snoke for turning her son to the dark side. In the book version, Leia says that somehow she knew that Snoke had been watching him from the shadows for years..........and why he did that? Because he knew long before the rest of the galaxy that Luke and Leia were the children of Darth Vader, making Ben Solo his grandson and, consequently, he had a great potential of becoming a powerful dark side user.

But if no one told Snoke, how would he know exactly what happened in the fight in the second Death Star? Well, what if he was actually there in the Death Star, watching everything quiet from the shadows? What if he was there because he was a secret apprentice of Palpatine? And if that's the case, who Snoke could be?

Well, he could be Galli, a character introduced to us in the Aftermath books. Galli was a young guy discovered by Palpatine a couple of years before the Clone Wars began. Palpatine had a precious spot in Jakku, we don't know what it is, but he said it was significant.........

As we can see from the excerpt, Palpatine met this guy named Galli, whom he charged of protecting the spot..........and what happens to this boy isn't entirely known yet, and this whole mystery might be because this guy will turn out to be Snoke.

The book doesn't make any remarks about Galli being not human, or being deformed and full of scars..........and there is a great chance that Galli wasn't a Force-sensitive person when he met Palpatine. But we can't forget that he spent too many years in the precious spot in Jakku and maybe there was a strong dark power source hidden somewhere in the place, that's why it was so important for Palpatine to begin with. And maybe spending too many years in contact with this dark power source transformed Galli, making him very powerful and deforming his physical appearance.

That's it guys, I hope you like the theories. I think the three of them make sense and suit the story............and what do you think about it? Do you have a favorite one? Tell us in the comments below!

Is Rey a Kenobi?! - Star Wars

Is Rey a Kenobi? Is she Obi-Wan's grandchild? Let's talk about some of the main topics concerning the theory and see if it actually makes any sense:

Both Rey and Obi-Wan have a Core World accent

Since both Rey and Obi-Wan have a Core World accent (which corresponds to British accent in real life), people say that they are blood related to each other. And the suspicion rise up when we see that John Boyega (who plays Finn) also has a British accent in his natural speaking voice, but was told not to do it in the movie. So, lots of people believe that the producers intentionally let Daisy Ridley do the accent because the character was meant to speak that way.

However, even if the character was indeed meant to have the accent, that doesn't mean anything, since the way you speak isn't a biological feature, it's something you gain because of the place you were born or because of the way that the people who raised you speak. Therefore, either Rey grew up in a Core World before living in Jakku, or whoever raised her (before she was given to Unkar Plutt) had the accent. So, even though the accent indicates a slight chance of Rey being a descendant of Obi-Wan, it's way too far from being a strong evidence to support the theory.

Besides, what if the reason why Rey has such accent isn't in the Star Wars universe, but in the real world? What if Daisy Ridley couldn't pull off an american accent? Maybe she tried to speak without the British accent, but it wasn't working out and, for the sake of a good movie, the producers preferred to let her speak the way it was the best for her, even though the fans would question about it.

If Obi-Wan is Rey's grandfather, who is her grandmother?

Some people say that it's Satine, a character from The Clone Wars animated series, since Obi-Wan developed feelings for her and would even leave the Jedi Order if she asked to.

Yeah, there's a chance that she ended up being pregnant, but why no one knew about it? I mean, she was mentor of an entire planet, and people would know if she had a child. I know that she could have covered the pregnancy up, but how easy it would be for a woman in her position to hide such a big secret? I understand that there is a slight chance that she could have  managed to hide her pregnancy, but even so it's a very weak argument to support the theory.

And what if Rey's grandmother isn't Satine?

What if Obi-Wan fell in love with someone else after Satine's death? Maybe he met someone in Tatooine during the time he spent there (looking after Luke), or maybe he left the planet for a short period of time during those years and had an affair with someone in another planet.......

People say that there are some evidences to support this idea........in "A New Hope", shortly after Obi-Wan gives Luke his father's lightsaber, the former starts talking about Anakin, and then says this curious line: "I was once a Jedi Knight like your father". Why he said that? Didn't he consider himself a Jedi anymore? Isn't it possible that he didn't obey the Jedi rules anymore and, so, he didn't bother to leave Tatooine and enjoy his life? Maybe even have a lover at some point?

And, after he enjoyed his life for a while, he decided to return to Tatooine. Maybe he heard rumors about a mechanical man wearing black suit called Darth Vader, which he remembered to be Anakin's Sith name, thanks to the record he saw in Episode III. So, Obi-Wan realized that Anakin didn't die at Mustafar, as he believed. Maybe that's what makes him go back to Tatooine. After all, he felt responsible for training Anakin, who became one of the most powerful dark side users of the galaxy.

Since Obi-Wan felt responsible for helping Luke defeat his father, he decided to abandon his lover (without knowing she was pregnant) and go back to Tatooine so as to start his training for becoming a Force Ghost and be able to help Luke even after death. And becoming a Force Ghost means that he had to let go of all attachments, including his romantic relationship, that's why he didn't bring his lover with him. However, he didn't know that the woman was pregnant.........that's why he never knew about the child.........

Well, I must confess that it isn't a crazy theory, it actually makes sense, but I don't think it would be nice if it turned out to be true. I mean, it would change the charater, since the Obi-Wan we know would never give up his duties in Tatooine (even if it was only for a while) so as to "enjoy life" and have a lover or even a one night stand.......

Besides, I don't think Obi-Wan ever stopped to live accordingly to the Jedi rules. I think he just didn't consider himself a Jedi anymore because he no longer worked to protect the galaxy (at least not officially), since the Jedi Order was destroyed..........but I strongly believe he never abandoned the Jedi lifestyle, especially because he was focused on his mission: help Luke defeat the Empire and become a Force Ghost, in case he would be needed after death (which he was, since he directed Luke to Dagobah so as to receive his training, which was crucial for the Empire's collapse).

The Jedi mind trick is a Kenobi specialty?

Since Rey mind tricked a stormtrooper at the star killer base, people say that she is a descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi, because apparently mind tricking was his specialty.........but is this true? We indeed saw Obi-Wan succeeding in getting him and Luke passed the squad of stormtroopers in "A New Hope", but it was something that any Jedi could pull off. Obi-Wan even said that "the Force has a big influence on the weak minded", admitting that what he had done wasn't very impressive for a Jedi. He just tricked some weak minded stormtroopers after all. Then in the prequels we see Obi-Wan mind tricking a drug dealer that is trying to sell death sticks to a Jedi in a club, but we can obviously assume that this guy was weak minded too.

Besides, there are other Jedis that successfully used mind tricks. Qui-Gon Jinn had no problem in mind tricking Boss Nass before failing on Watto. Luke mind tricked Bib Fortuna to get an audience with Jabba and when he tried to use it on Jabba, he failed. And how Luke learned to mind trick anyway? Was it with Master Yoda's training on Dagobah? Or did he see Obi-Wan doing it on that one time in Tatooine and pretty much self taught him how to do that at some point? If that's the case, we can definitely conclude that any Jedi can use it successfully on the weak minded ones.

So, to be considered Obi-Wan's specialty, we should have seen him using it in a truly impressive situation, with someone that's strong minded.........but that isn't the case.

Rey's Force Vision

Some people defend that Rey is blood related to Obi-Wan because the latter told her "these are your first steps" during her force vision in The Force Awakens. However, this is the weakest argument we have seen so far........after all, do they really need a family bond to communicate this way with each other? Let's not forget that Obi-Wan could communicate with Luke without being blood related to him.

But why the producers chose Obi-Wan to communicate with Rey? Well, they probably wanted to save Anakin's Force Ghost to the next movie and they ended up choosing Obi-Wan over Master Yoda because the former was the one that appeared the most to talk with Luke in the original trilogy.

And an interesting ideia to think about is that the Force Ghosts exist in a place where there is no future, present and past. So, it's possible that Obi-Wan already knows about Rey and her destiny and wants to guide her down her path. Therefore, it's totally possible that he, with no blood relation to Rey, had been watching her, just waiting for the right moment to speak with her.

If Rey is a Kenobi, why then is she so strong with the Force?

Another thing to keep in mind is that Obi-Wan seems to be an average Jedi, not a particularly powerful one. Obi-Wan even said that Anakin had become a far greater Jedi than he could ever hope to be. And if a Kenobi isn't near the level of a Skywalker, why would Rey be so powerful? So powerful that she could even defeat Kylo Ren (who is a Skywalker and was trained by Luke and Snoke), even though she apparently didn't have any training.

That's it guys, as you have probably noticed, I don't think the Rey Kenobi Theory is going to be true. I think that there are other theories that fit the story a lot better, such as The Reincarnation Theory and The Dark Side Creation Theory. Click the links to check them out!

Blood, Gold an Love: Dany's Betrayals

According to the Undying, Daenerys will know three betrayals: for blood, for gold and for love. I guess everybody agrees that the first one refers to Mirri, but what about the other two? I strongly believe that the second one refers to Doreah, but I don't understand why most people don't talk about this theory. The third treason is also very polemical and there are lots of theories about it............let's discuss these topics:

The Undying prophecies

In the book, the scene that shows Dany in the House of the Undying is much more different from the one showed in the series:

"Following the suggestion of Pyat Pree, Daenerys Targaryen seeks the Undying Ones' counsel at their residence, the House of the Undying. The Undying Ones show her a number of visions of past and future events.

(....)

Upon reaching the chamber of the Undying, Daenerys is spoken to in a barely perceptible whisper. The Undying call her 'mother of dragons' and 'child of three' and tell her some prophecies, saying 'three fires must you light... one for life and one for death and one to love... three mounts must you ride... one to bed and one to dread and one to love... three treasons will you know... once for blood and once for gold and once for love...' " (Click HERE to read the entire post)

There are lots of theories concerning these prophecies, but in this post we are going to discuss only about the prophecy concerning the treasons for blood, gold and love.

Treason for blood

I guess everyone agrees that this treason refers to Mirri Maz Duur, the witch whose city was destroyed by the dothraki and, to revenge her people, she betrays Dany by saying that she would cure her dying husband in exchange for another life. She deceives Dany by suggesting that the life of Drogo's horse was going to be the price, but after the ritual Dany finds out that she payed with her son's life, who was still in her womb.

As if that wasn't horrible enough, Dany also finds out that her husband wasn't brought to life the way she expected: he was breathing, but did nothing but stay lying staring at nothing...........

Then Dany asks Mirri:

When will he (Drogo) be as he was? —Dany asked

"When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east," said Mirri Maz Duur, "When the seas go dry and the mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before."

Anyway, it's pretty clear that this is the treason for blood. Now, let's talk about the other betrayals, that are much more polemical........

Treason for gold

Lots of people believe that this treason refers to Jorah, who used to send Varys information about the Targaryen.........however, it seems that he didn't do it for gold, but for being able to return home, to Westeros.

So, to whom this treason refers to? Lots of people believe that it hasn't happened yet, but I strongly believe that it refers to Doreah, who was a former bedslave and Dany's handmaiden........

She and Dany were very friends, Doreah even taught her how to please Khal Drogo in bed and how to use her sexuality to gain her husband's respect.

However, Doreah betrayed Dany in season 2, when they went to the city of Qarth and met Xaro Xhoan Daxos, the only one of the Thirteen (the rulers of the city) who let Dany and her people enter the city........he didn't do it because he was a good person, though. Xaro had a deal with Pyat Pree, the warlock from the House of the Undying.............

Xaro let Dany enter the city and, later, he stole her dragons (which he did with the help of Doreah) and gave them to the Undying Ones, so that they could use to enhance their magic (and they also wanted to imprison Dany in the House of the Undying, since the dragons became even more powerful in  her presence)..........in exchange, Pyter killed the other members of the Thirteen and Xaro declared himself King of Qarth.

Daenerys later escapes from the House of the Undying after retrieving her dragons and with her men invades Xaro's house where she finds Xaro in bed with Doreah, revealing that she had in fact betrayed Daenerys and gave her dragons to Xaro and Pyat Pree. Xaro and Doreah plead for their lives, with Xaro promising to get her ships to invade Westeros. Using the circular key pendant, the treasure vault is opened and found to be empty, his enormous wealth a lie to cling on to his power and seat. Then, Xaro and Doreah are locked inside the merchant prince's vault to die. (Click HERE to read the entire text)

We can presume that Doreah betrayed Dany for gold, since she was clearly enchanted by Xaro, who was said to be the richest man of Qarth (which turned out be a lie).

So, when Xaro proposed Doreah to be his ally, she couldn't help herself.........after all, she would be with the (so called) richest man of Qarth and she was convinced that Dany wouldn't leave the city alive anyway........

As everything indicates, this was the treason for gold, and it's so clear for me.......I don't understand why most people haven't thought about it.

 Treason for love

This is definitely the most confusing one, since it probably hasn't happened yet........when we think about it, Jorah's betrayal would fit in it, since he betrayed Daenerys for his love to his House and his home.......however, he didn't "complete" his betrayal, he didn't let Dany be poisoned and he has been so loyal to her every since........so, I don't think he can be considered a true traitor.........

Who is then? Let's talk about some theories:

Varys

Since Varys is known for betraying his former kings, I don't think it would be different with Daenerys. It's totally possible that he would betray her if he considered it was the best for the people.

It can actually be regarded as a betrayal for love, since Varys would be doing it for his love for the people.......

The only problem with this theory is that it doesn't seem to have time for Dany to reign for a while before she goes crazy like her father and end up being betrayed by Varys.........I really wanted that to happen (to see her getting crazy and so on.........it would be very cool), but unfortunately I don't think there's going to have time for that..........

There is also a crazy theory about Aegon Targaryen (son of Elia and Rhaegar) being still alive because Varys has protected him through all these years and educated him to be the best King of Westeros........and then, when the time comes (maybe after Cersei is defeated), he will claim that the boy is the true heir to the throne, not Dany........

I don't think it's likely to happen, especially because the series (and probably the books) wouldn't name Jon with the same name of a character that's still alive. Besides, Rhaegar annulled his marriage to Elia, which means that Aegon (his son with Elia) is a bastard and, consequently, doesn't have the right to the throne........so, what's the point of creating such a complicated plot (that would demand a lot of time to be explained) if there won't be any conflicts concerning the heritage anyway?

Another theory that makes much more sense is that, after the wars end and Cersei is defeated, Varys might want Jon to be king for believing that he will be a better ruler than Daenerys..........so, Varys might want to put Jon against Dany and convince him to claim his right to the throne.........

Yeah, I know that Jon and Dany could get married and rule Westeros together, but the truth is that only one can sit in the Iron Throne and have the final word for everything.

Missandei

I have already made other posts concerning whether there is a traitor in Dany's team.........after all, it was so strange that Euron Greyjoy could easily find his nephews' fleet and, later, could arrive in Casterly Rock at the perfect timing to destroy the ships of the Unsullied.........

I mean, it's hard to believe that Euron and his people would stay unlimited days in the sea, just waiting for the enemy to appear someday.........they could wait for weeks or even months, which would be very exhausting and risky, since they could be discovered (after all, it's not easy to hide an entire fleet - especially a big one such as Euron's - in open sea).

So, either it's a bad written script with absurd conveniences, or someone in Dany's team betrayed her, sending the enemy informations about their plan. That's why Euron knew when and where his nephews' fleet could be found and, in the case of the Unsullied, even though Cersei already presumed the attack to Casterly Rock, the traitor provided them with the information concerning the day that the Unsullied would probably arrive there..........that's why Euron could arrive at the perfect timing.........

Imagine if Euron's fleet had arrived there a few days later? The Unsullied would already be on their way back to Dragonstone and, so, their ships wouldn't be burned...........summing up, Cersei and Jaime's trap wouldn't be so successful if it wasn't for the perfect timing.......

So, who could be the traitor in Dany's team? I think that Missandei is a huge suspect for several reasons:

- she participated in the reunions concerning the plans of conquering Westeros;

- it's possible that, after having sex with Grey Worm, she asked him about details concerning the attack of Casterly Rock (information such as the day they would probably arrive there);

- when Tyrion introduced Missandei to Sor Davos and Jon, he referred to her as being the queen's most trusted adviser, which is another motive to suspect her, especially because Dany has been betrayed by trustful and close friends before (like Doreah);

 - when Sor Davos couldn't place her accent and asked where she was from, she acted very weirdly and tried not to say much about herself.

Why she acted this way when Sor Davos asked her about it? Maybe she has already lived somewhere that she couldn't reveal? Maybe somewhere that could raise the suspicion of a possible connection with an enemy? Maybe with Euron Greyjoy?

Since we don't know much about Euron and Missandei's lives, it's totally possible that they have already met each other before, maybe even had a romance.........and then Euron secretly exchanged messages with her after she arrived in Westeros, and somehow convinced her to help him, maybe with romantic promises that they would end up together......and then Missandei couldn't help herself and betrayed Dany.

Tyrion Lannister

During his talk with Cersei in the final episode of the season, Tyrion revealed that he never wanted to destroy his House, that's why he convinced Dany not to invade King's Landing.........so, might it indicate that he is going to betray Dany for his love to his House? Or maybe he has already betrayed her? Maybe he has failed so many times as Hand of the King on purpose? And why he looked so worried when he saw Jon entering in Dany's room?

There are some interesting theories concerning this matter: is his worried look in the boat somehow related with his chat with Cersei? After all, what did he say to his sister in order to "convince" her to help them to fight against the White Walkers? Maybe he promised her that he would try to destroy Jon and Dany's alliance? This would justify why Tyrion seemed worried in the boat scene: he realized that it wouldn't be easy to separate them two.

There is another theory that says that Tyrion promised Cersei that her son will be the successor of the Iron Throne after Dany dies. He probably told Cersei about Dany's infertility and that he would find a way to make her son the next ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.........that's why he looked so worried in the boat, after all, if Dany turned out to be fertile and ended up having a baby with Jon, Tyrion wouldn't be able to accomplish his promise.

And then you ask me: but Cersei won't help them to fight against the White Walkers, so why would Tyrion bother to keep his word if his sister didn't keep hers? Yeah, that's still very confusing, but I have thought about some possibilities:

 - the fact that Cersei didn't keep her word is somehow part of their deal;

- Cersei didn't believe that Tyrion would keep his word, so she decided to break the deal first..........and, in this case, Tyrion would be released from whatever promise he may had made.

Of course there's always the possibility that Tyrion didn't betray Dany and never will. Maybe he do want her to be queen, but without destroying his House. So, it's possible that he "convinced" Cersei to help them in the Great War by promising her that he would find a way to save her and her baby if Daenerys end up being queen.

However, Cersei didn't believe her brother and didn't keep his word. She even says to Jaime that "You expect me to trust the man who murdered our father?". That's why she thought that the best to do was to not keep her word and only let "the monsters kill each other".

But then what Tyrion's worried look in the boat means? Jealousy? Or was he simply worried that two important leaders being romantically involved might create problems in the near future? In an interview, the director Jeremy Podeswa gives us a hint of what was going on:

"During INSIDER's interview with the episode's director, Jeremy Podeswa, he expanded on Tyrion's mindset in this scene.

'I think it's a combination of things,' Podeswa told INSIDER.  'Jealousy is too simple, in a way. I think what's really going on here for me is that Tyrion is a strategist. He's somebody who thinks to the future and what the consequences of things are. For him, the union of Dany and Jon is a bit of a monkey wrench in terms of the plan for how they're going to move forward in a united front against the army of the dead.

(....) Now that there's a special bond between these two, nobody really knows how that's going to play out or what kind of decisions they'll make based on the fact that they're now connected to each other in a much more intimate way.'

Looking back at season seven, you can see how Tyrion was often chastised by Daenerys for his failed plans, especially after they lost Dorne and Highgarden as allies. She began turning to Jon Snow for advice more and more frequently.

'So for Tyrion this creates a potential problem' Podeswa said. 'Whatever sway he might have had over Dany might not be there anymore, cause Jon may become more important to her than him. The choices she will make may be influenced by this event. So for him the concern going forward is just how is this all going to play out, and what it might foreshadow.' " (Click HERE to read the complete post)

So, unless the director is trying to deceive us, it's highly unlikely that Tyrion betrayed Dany.

Jon Snow

According to the legend of the Azor Ahai:

"Darkness lay over the world and a hero, Azor Ahai, was chosen to fight against it. To fight the darkness, Azor Ahai needed to forge a hero's sword. He labored for thirty days and thirty nights until it was done. However, when he went to temper it in water, the sword broke. He was not one to give up easily, so he started over. The second time he took fifty days and fifty nights to make the sword, even better than the first. To temper it this time, he captured a lion and drove the sword into its heart, but once more the steel shattered. The third time, with a heavy heart, for he knew beforehand what he must do to finish the blade, he worked for a hundred days and nights until it was finished. This time, he called for his wife, Nissa Nissa, and asked her to bare her breast. He drove his sword into her breast, her soul combining with the steel of the sword, creating Lightbringer."

So, if Jon turns out to be the Azor Ahai, he might have to kill Daenerys, his beloved, in order to create Lightbringer, the flaming sword that he will use to defeat evil.

This theory can also be supported by one of the prophecies of the Undying: "three fires must you light... one for life and one for death and one to love".

The "light for love" line might refer to the fact that Daenerys is going to be sacrificed by her lover in order to create the sword that will be used to fight the darkness and, consequently, bring light to the world again.

However, there are some problems with this theory:

- I don't think it can be considered a betrayal, it's more like a necessary sacrifice that Dany might even agree with (in the legend, it looks like Nissa Nissa agrees to do it);

- the last episodes of season 7 were suggesting that Dany will have a baby with Jon and, if it turns out to be right, she will remain alive at least for the next nine months, but the Army of the Dead is already approaching and there's no time to wait so long to create Lightbringer;

- the Azor Ahai legend might be much more metaphorical than we think.

That's why I don't believe this theory so much. I don't think this whole sacrifice thing is literal. Besides, as far as I can remember, the series hasn't brought up the word "Azor Ahai" yet, only the "prince who was promised" has been mentioned..........why is that? Maybe it's because the show doesn't want to worry about accomplishing the "Azor Ahai requisites"?

Yeah, it looks like the producers don't want to worry about a legend so complicated and full of details..........after all, there won't be time for that.

That's it guys, I do hope you liked it. And I want to know from you: do you agree that the treason for gold refers to Doreah? And what are your theories about the treason for love? Let your opinion in the comments below!
